Tony Romo broke a couple of ribs in Week 2. No worries — the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys was able to return to the game and lead his team from a come from behind victory. For fantasy football owners, Romo’s return was a relief.

Despite missing action during the game, Romo finished with 345 passing yards to go along with two touchdowns. Those numbers mirrored his Week 1 performance. Fantasy owners have to be thrilled with that level of production.

Going into Week 3, expect Romo to play. Broken ribs aren’t any fun but he’ll get some extra padding and pop a few pills.

What may hurt Romo even more? He’s running out of weapons. Wide receiver Miles Austin had three touchdowns in Week 2 but was forced to leave the game with a hamstring injury. Austin is unlikely to play next week.

Joining Austin on the sidelines could be starting running back Felix Jones, who separated his shoulder. Even star tight end Jason Witten was banged up after the game.

All told, a hobbled Romo and the lack of surrounding talent limits the Cowboys QB’s fantasy football potential going forward … in at least the next few weeks. If he has to sit out at any point, Dallas will turn to backup quarterback Jon Kitna.
